Helping Children See a Healthier Future
We are revolutionizing research on eye and vision conditions for all children, everywhere.
The Kids Eye Biobank collects biological samples, health information, and medical images from individuals with eye and vision conditions. It serves as a centralized resource for research and learning while connecting researchers, clinicians, and affected individuals around the globe.
By enabling collaboration and access to high-quality data, the Kids Eye Biobank supports research aimed at reducing negative outcomes and improving child health.

We enroll individuals representing a broad range of childhood eye and vision conditions. These include anterior segment disorders (e.g., glaucoma, cataracts, etc), as well as rare pediatric eye cancers (e.g., retinoblastoma, optic pathway gliomas).
Our biobank contains a rich, highly annotated dataset that includes:
Did you know that patients are at the center of everything we do? The Kids Eye Biobank was built using a patient-centred approach, ensuring patient perspectives help guide our work. Patients are involved in two important ways:
Participants contribute biological samples, health information, and medical images that are securely stored and used to support future research.
Take PartPatient partners are active members of the Kids Eye Biobank team. They contribute to research, operations, and decision-making processes, helping ensure our work reflects the needs and priorities of those with lived experience.
